Description
Pottery Class: Plate or Platter
Tuesday, October 11th and Monday, October 24th, from 1pm to 4pm.
Instruction will be given how to work with slabs and decorating your slab with a variety of stamps, lace, rollers etc.
You will also learn how to transform your slab of clay into a plate/platter.
For more experienced clay lovers there will be a more challenging project available, also a platter but with a “twist”.
In this class you can work on your own project or join in for the monthly challenge.
In the second class, we will focus on glazing your platter. A variety of glazes will be offered for you to use, and different glaze techniques will be discussed.
Included in the class is materials for making the monthly project.
You are welcome to bring stamps, lace or anything you think will make a nice imprint on clay.
If you want to do your own project 5lbs of clay, use of glazes and 2 firings are included.
Working with clay can be messy so no hand and/or wrist jewelry, and yes you can mess up a nice manicure.
1st class is making your art work
2nd class you will glaze your piece
Costs: $75.00
A basic tool kit can be bought from the instructor for $16.00
A minimum to hold class is 2 and a maximum is 6.
